clonidine for Tourette’s Syndrome: My young son was diagnosed with Tourette’s and had both speech and eye tics which were interfering with life. Fortunately, we found a neurologist expert in tic conditions who prescribed the Catapres patch. Once we found the appropriate dosage, the tics subsided completely and no adverse side effects have been noted. We have used this drug now for 5 years. Now our daughter is showing signs of multiple tics so we will try Clonidine with her. We are very thankful for this drug.

clonidine for ADHD: My 14 year old son has ADHD. He was diagnosed 8 years ago. He was prescribed Vyvanse in May 2008. It wasn’t working. He gained weight and inches. He couldn’t sleep. He became aggressive and lazy. His heart began to race and his old tics returned. We were referred to a psychologist. He prescribed clonidine. His failing grades went to A’s. It controlled his moods, calmed his heart, and the tics disappeared. Also he sleeps well now. We are thrilled. He is also more organized.

clonidine for Bipolar Disorder: I have mixed Bipolar symptoms and was increasing on the Monic side. 1 Clonidine and in 15 minutes I had some relief and felt nearly normal. I like that it is an as needed drug and I don’t have to take it everyday like my other medicines. The only drawback is that it only lasts 4-6 hours and you have to take it again but to feel nearly “normal” I will do that.
